Private Residence

Located in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area on a bluff over the river, this minimalist residence was designed to celebrate the surrounding environment. The one story, two bedroom home maintains a low profile with a shed roof that rises to the south to maximize views of the Gorge. Deep eaves provide necessary shade in the hot summer months. At 880 SF, it qualifies as an ADU in Klickitat County and was designed with future development in mind, allowing for a larger primary residence to be constructed on site. The interior maintains the modern aesthetic of the exterior, with radiant concrete floors, plaster walls, and a touch of warmth from wood finishes and an integrated salvaged stained glass window.
