CCC Shelter Preservation
Rainbow Falls State Park, WA
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) were responsible for developing many of our state parks across the United States. Pacific Preservation is on the Washington State Parks Consultant Roster to help preserve these cultural resources. At Rainbow Falls State Park in WA, we produced construction documents to preserve an historic log kitchen shelter and garage constructed by the CCC in 1934. The scope included log repair and replacement, replacing a cedar shingle roof with synthetic shingles to match in-kind at the garage, restoring the cedar shingle roof at the kitchen shelter, basalt masonry chimney repairs, and lighting replacement.
